As we talked about in our ISO 17442 post (connecting LEIs to digital certificates), we strongly believe that LEI adoption will dramatically increase as new LEI based products and services are launched. Earlier this month we saw the industry’s very first LEI-based Site Seal launched by our Registration Agent partner GetLEI.
The Site Seal, named LEITrust™, provides websites with a visual stamp to identify the legal entity behind the website. Clicking on the site seal will present visitors with a complete report of the LEI number as detailed in the GLEIF database.
GetLEI states the benefits include:
- increasing confidence in the website and online business
- confirmation that the organization has been verified by the GLEIF
- creating a sense of reliability among visitors that is necessary to complete transactions
- increase the level of site conversion
It’s exciting to see organisations innovating new products based on Legal Entity Identifiers. The LEITrust site seal makes a valuable and useful connection between the organisation’s online identity and physical world identity.
